Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,089 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Montgomery, Alabama. The position starts 10/26/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate has 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• NIH certification.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 1.5 years referenced).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
