Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,038 per week

About the role

Travel nursing assignment at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, a 32-bed observation unit. Night shifts (12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request). Target start date: 10/19/2026 with bi-weekly orientation.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with chest pain, abdominal pain, flank pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, awaiting placement, and geri-psych placement
• Perform PIV insertion and manage stable drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Protonix)
• Work with patient ratios of 1:5–7, supported by LPNs and CNAs (charge nurses take an assignment on night shifts)
• First to float within skillset; potential to float to Deaconess Midtown (8 miles away) or Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles) with 2 hours' notice
• Complete EPIC check-off class for charting system

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of strong Med-Surg experience
• At least 1 travel assignment completed
• Trauma Level II experience
• Current active compact nursing license
• AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (required upon submittal)
• Recent EPIC experience
• No local candidates (strict 40-mile radius rule applies)

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM–7:00 AM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Every other holiday

Facility Policies

• Attendance: 3 call-ins may result in contract termination
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (no competing health systems or agency logos)
