Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,025 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment in Minot, North Dakota.

About the Role

The Med Surg Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, high-quality, patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units. This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and social workers, to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan.
• Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Requirements

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

• Proficiency in reading and comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and PC skills.
• Physical abilities: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal skills: Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Technical/motor skills: Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental requirements: Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance; contend with irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration to detail.
• Sensory: Must possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.

Schedule

• Duration: 14 weeks.
• 36 hours per week.
• 12-hour shifts, nights.
