Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,996 per week
About the Role
Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Med Surg at a facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.
Unit Specifics
- Ortho unit: 30 beds
- Med Surg unit: 37 beds
- Patient ratios: Typically 6:1
- Staffing includes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Student Nurse Externs (SNEs), and a Unit Secretary (US) during day shifts
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: Month-long increments (4 weeks); full-time staff must work 4 weekend shifts per schedule
- Floating policy: Float to inpatient units for patient care, and to CCU/ED for tasks
- Patient experience: All experience levels welcome
- Certifications required: BLS
Responsibilities
- Manage a patient load with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Utilize teamwork strategies to provide patient-centered care
- Assist with bedside procedures as needed (less common than in CCU/ED)
Requirements
- RN, LPN, or PCT licensure
- BLS certification
- Adherence to dress code: Scrub top and bottoms (no fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweaters); long-sleeve shirts or scrub jackets permitted under scrub top. No shoes with holes, denim, or camouflage.
