Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,920 per week

Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Registered Nurse position located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care on a post-surgical unit specializing in urology, orthopedics, and general surgeries. The candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, care planning, and education, working within a team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience in post-surgical nursing (not operating room)
• Experience in urology, orthopedics, and general surgery
• Willing to learn and take charge
• Location in Missouri
• No minimum experience requirement

Preferred Qualifications

• Peri Dialysis experience
• Float rotation may be required for Med Surg and Progressive Care units

Additional Information

• Post-surgical nursing experience (excluding OR) in urology, ortho, and general surgery
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:6 with common equipment such as IV pumps
• EMR system: EPIC
• Dress code: Scrubs, black in color
• Delivers nursing care by developing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, implementing interventions, and providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families
• Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills
• Contract duration: up to 26 weeks, with weekly guaranteed hours of 36, can be extended
• Weekends: Every other full weekend required, with prior approval for exceptions
• Holidays: Will be expected to work at least one major summer or winter holiday period

Pay package

Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
