Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 26
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Unit staffing: Techs available; unit secretaries on shift
- Equipment: Hoyer lifts, rolling computers, rolling vital-sign machines
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling requirements: 4 weekend shifts per month
- Floating policy: Can float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
- Patient Experience requirements: Prefer prior med/surg experience
Responsibilities
- Basic patient care and monitoring of vital signs and lab values
- Proficient medication administration, including controlled substances
- Management of NG/NJ tubes and chest tubes
- Heparin-drip titration
- Post-cath-lab care for patients returning from heart procedures
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification (required)
- BSN preferred
- Navy-blue scrubs (tops and bottoms) required dress code
