Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,915 per week

Job Summary

The healthcare professional position is based in a Medical Surgical Floor in Hilo, Hawaii. This role involves providing care for adult surgical patients in a 34-bed unit, with responsibilities including surgical preoperative and postoperative nursing. The position requires adherence to standard nursing duties and skills, with an emphasis on surgical procedures and patient care protocols.

Job Details

• Locations: Hilo, Hawaii
• Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts, with a total of 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Standard Registered Nurse (RN) skills with at least 2 years of experience in pre/postoperative nursing
• Proficient in surgical care procedures such as abdominal surgeries (lap chole/appendectomy), mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, and drains
• Must possess BLS and ACLS certifications
• Hawaii State Nursing License required by the start date

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical pre/postoperative care equipment including vital signs machines, IV & PCA pumps, electronic medical record systems, and medication dispensing systems

Additional Information

• Candidates must arrive on the Thursday before the start date to attend the employee health appointment scheduled for the following day
• Floating to other units or departments may be required
• The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1 RN to 5-6 patients
• Uniforms are standard nursing attire

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
