Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,751 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Gadsden, Alabama. We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Gadsden, AL. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds regularly, with patient moving/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Schedule

Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12‑hour nights, 36 hours per week.
