Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,706 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing assignment in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN with 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment

Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; 12‑hour night shifts; travel employment type.
