Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,653 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing position in Dothan, Alabama. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency that places clinicians nationwide, focusing on putting highly‑skilled staff into facilities to ensure adequate staffing and a better patient experience. The assignment is for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts, and is an immediate opening requiring 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients
