Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,607 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 14‑week assignment in Augusta, Georgia. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Employment type is travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Adept at working in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
