About the role
LDRP / Labor & Delivery RN position at St. Luke’s Treasure Valley, Nampa, Idaho. Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM. First-time travelers accepted. Charting system: Epic. No call required. Must live more than 50 miles from the facility.
Unit Details
- 14 LDRP beds — patients remain in the same room through labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
- 2 C-section OR suites; RNs circulate and recover
- 4 triage beds; travelers will staff triage
- Approximately 90 births/month / 1,200 births annually
- NICU capability embedded within 7 LDRP rooms
- OB hospitalist, Neonatal NP, and anesthesia available 24/7
- Ratios – AWHONN Staffing Standards:
- Labor: 1:1
- Cervical ripening: May pair 2 patients
- Postpartum: 1:3 couplets
- Triage: 1:3, with resource support if census reaches 4
Responsibilities
- Labor & Delivery experience
- Mother/Baby / postpartum experience
- Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn care
- Triage experience
- C-section circulating
- Postpartum couplet care
- Magnesium administration/management
- Titrate Pitocin, magnesium, and occasional insulin drips
- Charge experience preferred
Requirements
Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- STABLE
Patient Population
- 32+ weeks gestation
- Hypertensive patients receiving magnesium
- TOLAC/VBAC patients
- Gestational diabetes
- Antepartum patients
- Patients transferring from community/home-birth settings for intervention or pain management
- Does not typically manage placenta previa or accreta
Floating
- First to float
- May float between St. Luke’s Treasure Valley locations including Meridian, Nampa, and Boise
- Float within L&D, postpartum, antepartum, or occasionally as a sitter
Schedule
- Travelers initially fill schedule gaps
- Future schedules may allow preferences, but block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Cannot work 6 shifts consecutively
- Weekends as needed
- No fixed traveler holiday requirement, though holiday coverage may be needed
Additional Information
- Scrubs: Hospital-issued; must change into and out of scrubs onsite
- Permanent address must be included with submission to verify compliance with the 50-mile radius rule
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
