Required Qualifications & Hard Stops
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience is required.
- Highly preferred to come from a Level 3 or higher L&D unit (a facility with a Level 3+ NICU).
- The hard stop: Candidates must care for couplets and be fully comfortable caring for normal newborn nursery patients (Level I care).
- Candidates must be willing to do postpartum/couplet care.
Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State License.
Certifications
- Required: BLS, NRP (AHA).
- PREFERRED: ACLS, Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), or Inpatient Antepartum (RNC-IAP).
