Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including assessment, treatment, and postpartum support.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
• Administer medications, prepare equipment, and assist physicians during procedures.
• Monitor fetal and maternal health, interpret fetal monitoring results, and respond to obstetric emergencies.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Document care accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Auxiliary with cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures, ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN with a valid license.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications; additional certifications such as AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, STABLE, and ACLS are preferred.
• Strong clinical, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist in procedures.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain attention to detail, and communicate clearly.
