Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate procedures and educate patients and families
- Administer medications and prepare equipment for labor and delivery
- Assist physicians during deliveries and obstetric procedures
- Provide postpartum care and neonatal assessments
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
- Support cesarean sections and other procedures as needed
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies
Qualifications & Skills
- One year recent experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Valid RN license and current BLS, NRP certifications
- Preferred: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, STABLE, and ACLS certifications
- Critical thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform clinical tasks and move equipment
- Proficiency in English and basic PC skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies
