About the Role

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Nampa, Idaho. Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

Requirements

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Proficiency in reading and comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and PC skills
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures using department equipment
• Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, handle irregular schedules, and maintain continuous concentration on detail
• Visual acuity and effective communication abilities
