Job Summary
Labor And Delivery (L&D) Nurse in Grass Valley, California. This role involves providing specialized care in a Family Birth Center, including standard labor and delivery procedures, attending to newborns, and supporting maternal health. The position requires working night shifts and adherence to hospital protocols within a busy obstetric unit.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours) from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The schedule includes every other weekend, with shifts beginning on August 4, 2026, and scheduled 6 weeks in advance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid licenses to submit, with certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM).
- At least 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified in AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
Additional Information
- Must be strong in emergencies and able to work independently with limited resources at night.
- The unit handles approximately 45 deliveries per month, with no high-risk cases.
- Experience in standard L&D, preterm, term, and postpartum care is required, along with the ability to transfer mothers at 34 weeks' gestation or below.
- The team includes 2 registered nurses and 1 respiratory therapist during deliveries.
- The facility uses Cerner for charting and provides a 23 day floor-specific orientation with a preceptor.

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
