Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,935 per week
About the role
Cross Country Nurses is seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in La Jolla, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a Perinatal Float Pool, rotating across multiple perinatal units, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and LDRP. The position requires cross-training, competency in both L&D and postpartum care, and adherence to the facility’s staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with high-risk deliveries
- Initiate and manage postpartum care
- Perform neonatal resuscitation
- Provide labor support and assist with vaginal deliveries
- Circulate for cesarean sections
- Use fetal monitoring equipment
- Administer blood products and epidural anesthesia
- Manage complications such as hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia
- Support breastfeeding and newborn care
- Float among Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and LDRP units, as well as affiliate hospitals, based on census and unit needs
- Complete relevant modules during orientation and annually (up to 8 hours of non-billable module work included in scheduled hours)
Requirements
- Valid California state RN license
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP certifications
- BSN degree
- Minimum of 2 years of combined Labor and Delivery and postpartum experience
- Demonstrated competency in both L&D and postpartum care
- Active CA licensure, two manager references, and compliance with background and policy checks
Schedule
- 13-week assignment starting 09/14/2026 through 12/14/2026
- 12-hour night shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
