Job Summary
This position involves providing high-acuity care for obstetric patients, including managing labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery in a Level II Trauma Center with a robust antepartum and NICU. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby throughout the childbirth process.
Responsibilities
- Triage OB patients
- Circulate in operating rooms
- Perform cervical checks
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips
- Assist in normal newborn care when necessary
- Function as a Charge Nurse, managing patient assignments and staff coordination
Requirements
- 2 years of nursing experience
- Prior labor and delivery experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certification
Schedule
- Shift times: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- 6-week cycle, planned and released two weeks in advance
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No mandatory call; occasional open shifts available

- Hospital and unit orientation
- 6 shifts paired with a Charge Nurse

- Traditional scheduling
