Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Labor and DeliveryDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelJob Summary (List Format): - Monitor maternal vital signs and contractions; interpret electronic fetal heart rate patterns for early detection of distress. - Administer IV fluids, medications, and various pain management options, including epidurals. - Provide labor and delivery support by coaching patients, assisting with positioning, and supporting obstetricians/midwives during births. - Prepare delivery and operating rooms; assist with patient preparation for emergency or scheduled C-sections; participate in neonatal resuscitation and critical interventions. - Deliver immediate postpartum care by monitoring maternal recovery and assessing newborn health, encouraging skin-to-skin contact, and initiating early breastfeeding. - Educate and support patients and families on newborn care, infant feeding, and postpartum recovery, offering emotional reassurance. - Accurately document medical care in electronic health records and communicate effectively with the care team during shift handoffs.Med Ninjas Job ID #18339.
