Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Bangor, Maine.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Labor and DeliveryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 10/06/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelMinimum years of experience? at least 2 years in Labor Delivery Will you accept a first-time traveler? No, must have completed at least 1 assignment at a facility comparable in size and acuity Level III NICU; Newborn Nursery Goal designated safe sleep facility Average # of deliveries per year? 1800 Typically, will do 4 scheduled events daily (c-sections, versions, etc) Postpartum/Antepartum/GYN/Mother-Baby: 25 could be overflow Antepartum that LD RNs monitor Covers a large geographical area tons of referrals (anything that will require NICU 1 of 2 NICU s in Maine) Not currently Baby Friendly designated only pool lactation staff at this time; many CLC s and IBCLC s that will assist in labor room Rooming in Model for Mother-Baby Labor Delivery and Mother-Baby are physically separate units right next to one another (locked, circular unit for the 2 areas) Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: PIH, GDM, Pre-Eclampsia, Eclampsia, HELLP, Shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage (assessed on admission, intrapartum, postpartum), multiples, fetal loss, drug addiction, cervical ripening Newborn care: if mother stays on unit for continuous surveillance (Mag x 24hrs), labor nurse would be responsible for documenting feeds and vitals and assessment for baby. Testing to be completed by Mother-Baby staff. Istat or bridge milk (PHDM) on babies usually done by core staff. Patient Ratios: Cervical Ripening: 1:1-3 Laboring: 1:1-3 Active Labor: 1:1 Couplet/Postpartum/Antepartum: 3 M/B couplets or 3 Antepartum/NICU moms Minimum staffing LD: 6 RNs Day and Night (goal) possibly 5, if there is a call out Required Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, MOAB CST: BLS, CST nationally certified Skills required: RN: titrate Pitocin, Fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, helps CRNA with epidural placement, management of insulin drips, magnesium drips, Shoulder dystocia, circulating c-section and/or receive baby in OR, neonatal resuscitation, assist with placement and monitor of IUPC; Newborn care to include: ability to provide lactation support, safe skin to skin protocol Please ask all travelers about charge experience and include in the offer info if they have/have not worked in a CRN capacityAbout Prime Time Healthcare NursingPrime Time Healthcare is a leading provider of traveling healthcare professionals nationwide.
