About the Role
HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a travel nurse RN for LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. The position is located on the L&D unit (Main Building, 2nd Floor).
- Number of Beds: 17 inpatient, 2 triage
- Patient Ratios: 1:1-2
- Unit staffing: Secretary on dayshift only, no techs
- Type of equipment: Monica Novii, Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors, GE EFM
- Documentation system: Meditech, Centricity
- Scheduling requirements: 3 12-hour shifts per week
- Floating policy: MB/Postpartum
- Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, courtesy and respect
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FM or C-EFM, NRP
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs (change on arrival and departure)
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, ready for huddle at 6:45
Responsibilities
- IV insertion, lab draws
- JADA and BAKRI knowledge
- Blood administration, nitrous administration
- Vaginal exams, setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries
- Strip interpretation
- Knowledge of common OB medications
- Circulator experience in C/S
- PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia
- Antepartum triage
- Knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical complaints
- Assist with epidural placement
- Teamwork approach to patient care
- Procedures performed on unit: ECV, C/S, Vaginal Deliveries, Assist with vacuum or forceps as needed, Epidural placement
Requirements

- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
