Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a busy Labor and Delivery department with a focus on antepartum, postpartum, and mother-baby care. The role requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses and to work during scheduled nights on a 12-hour shift schedule.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa nursing license or multistate license
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- AWHONN certification
- Recent/current Labor and Delivery experience, including antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery procedures
- Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / AWHONN certification
- At least one prior travel assignment completed within the last 12 months for current or recent travel experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-risk obstetrics at a Level I or Level II trauma facility
- Current or recent high-risk OB experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
Additional Information
- This role involves floating across all campuses within the organization
- Submission requires recent employment references and valid driver's license
- Holiday work may be required, particularly during Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day unless the unit is closed
- Orientation sessions are scheduled for 08/03 and 08/17
- Travel experience preferred; no first-time travelers accepted

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
