Unit Information
- Beds: 8
- Experience required: 3–5 years
- First-time traveler: Upon review
- Patient Types: Antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgeries, L&D > 35 weeks
- Patient Ratios: Laboring – 1:1; Couplets mixed with antepartum/surgical – 1:3
- Support on the Unit:
- Charge nurse: takes patients as needed
- RN draws blood
- FHM at bedside and nurse's station, no tele
- Resource Nurse
- RT
- Obstetrician has a 30 min call back time
- Charting System/Equipment: EPIC, Alaris IV pump, Pyxis
- Floating: May float to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role
- Orientation: At least one shift to learn flow
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation – every other
- Time off: up to 7 days can be approved
- On-call: varies, based on contract
- Scrub Color: Any color
- Parking: In the yellow lines in front of the building or by the emergency department
Required Certifications
- BLS
- NRP
- FHM
