About the Role

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Carthage, Tennessee. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

Requirements

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Mental Requirements: Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel; contend with irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration to detail
• Sensory: Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
