Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour day shifts
- Number of Beds: LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care 1:3, newborns 1:1 until stable, NICU 1:3 intermediate care (2 NICU nurses must be in the unit if there are patients)
- Unit Staffing: No techs or unit secretaries
- Equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
- Scheduling Requirements: Full-time 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays; PRN shifts to complete schedule
- Floating Policy: Regular staff may float anywhere within the facility if not needed on the unit; some staff cross-trained to float between LDRP & NICU
- Patient Experience Requirements: Daily rounding on all patients, safety rounding
- Certifications: Joint Commission, Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, Level II NICU
- Labor and delivery experience, including laboring and recovering the mother, receiving and transitioning the newborn, and assessment
- Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
- Fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil)
- Procedures performed: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
- Charge experience required
- BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training certifications required
- Dress Code: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy
- 6 seasoned RNs with approximately 30 years of experience each, serving as great resources and preceptors
- Several other nurses with 7-10 years of experience, highly competent and experienced
- Strong teamwork and willingness to help among staff
- LDRP unit provides experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonate care
