Antepartum patients, OB ED triage patients High risk population, diabetic, hypertension, drug/alcohol, placenta accreta/previa, abruption If PP hemorrhage, OR will come to assistPatient Ratios: AWHONN staffing guidelines: 1:1-2 laboring 1:1 active labor 1:2-4 postpartum/coupletsSkills required: Labor and delivery management, recovery and postpartum couplet care, newborn 24-hour cares, circumcision checks, magnesium infusion, Pitocin, inductions, epidural monitoring, blood product administration, couplet discharges, newborn blood collection, antepartum care Preferred: circulating c-sections Support within the Department: Charge RN OB coverage in house OB CRNAs in house AODs Night Surgical Techs Day CNA support 2 MFMs Manager/SupervisorFloating: If yes, where? NoOrientation (facility and unit): NEO 2 – 12 hour orientation shifts after SOARScheduling: Weekend rotation: Rotates, generally 4 weekends in an 8 week schedule On call? If so, what is that schedule? Yes Up to 4 call shifts in an 8-week period. Overnight call, 1900-0700.
