Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide care in Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, Newborn Nursery, and Couplet Care units
• Manage 15-17 births per month
• Care for Gynecology surgery patients
• Float to Med/Surg if no patients (assist with vitals, passing meds, etc., if uncomfortable with full Med/Surg assignments)
• Perform all RN responsibilities within scope for laboring patients, triages, and mother-baby care
• Validate initial assessments performed by LPNs
• Collaborate with LPNs who assist with EFM evaluations, patient care, documentation, and newborn support
• Request Transfer Coordinator (house supervisor) for additional assistance when needed
• Respond to emergencies (e.g., accompany patient to OR while RN remains on unit for triage)

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• Note: Facility can cancel 1 shift every other week
