About the role

Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position located within a healthcare organization. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients in the obstetrics and gynecology setting, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care utilizing age-specific criteria. The RN will also assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Patient Care Technicians (PCT). Flexibility with work schedule changes is essential to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients in the obstetrics and gynecology setting
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing age-specific criteria
  • Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff (LPNs and PCTs)
  • Function as a first assist and scrub in obstetrics
  • Demonstrate flexibility in shift scheduling to meet department needs

Requirements

  • Active Ohio or Ohio Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (verified through Nursys)
  • Minimum of 2 years of obstetrics experience, including experience functioning as a first assist and scrubbing in obstetrics
  • Current and pertinent skills checklist specific to obstetrics (OBGYN), valid within one year
  • Current work history and skills checklist relevant to obstetrics nursing

Certifications

  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • No on-call required
  • Every third weekend
