Job Summary
A Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care is needed for a facility in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing care for postpartum and antepartum patients, newborns, and their families. The nurse will work in a team-oriented environment, supporting mother-baby units with a focus on breastfeeding, newborn assessments, and postpartum education.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to 0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- At least 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum nursing experience
Patient Types
- Postpartum and low-risk antepartum patients, including newborns and mother-newborn couplets
Patient Ratios
- 1:3-4 for antepartum or couplets
Support on the Unit
- Receptionist/HUC coverage 7 days per week with evening shift till 0100
- Charge nurse on assignment with lower patient ratios
- Lactation nurses from 0730 to 1600 daily
- In-house hospitalist/obstetrics team 24/7
Technology/Equipment
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system preferred is EPIC
- Alaris IV pumps
- Pyxis medication dispensing system
Additional Notes
- Orientation includes NEO3 shifts with preceptors
- Weekend rotation every other or every third weekend

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
