About the role

Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in an acute care facility. This position involves providing high-risk obstetric care with a focus on postpartum treatment following delivery. The role requires handling diverse patient populations and high census volumes, including managing obstetric emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maternal care for high-risk obstetric patients
  • Manage postpartum hemorrhage
  • Administer medications such as Magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
  • Utilize EPIC for charting
  • Handle a census surge and float between nearby sister facilities if needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Compact license
  • BLS certification
  • NRP certification
  • At least 2 years of high-acuity obstetric experience including postpartum, postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Foley management
  • EPIC electronic health record experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • JADA experience
  • Substance withdrawal experience
  • Familiarity with postpartum care for multiple newborns (4 couplets)

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
