About the Role
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program. The role requires working night shifts in a fast-paced IR department supporting neuro and general intervention procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient assessment, sedation support, and monitor patients during IR procedures, including neuro and general cases.
- Support staff include receptionists, lead techs, tech specialists, respiratory therapy, hospitalist team, CNAs, and transporters.
- Use of Siemens and GE equipment and other advanced tech are expected.
- Orientation includes 1-2 weeks with a preceptor.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- Experience with neuro IR procedures including strokes, bleeds, TIPS, carotid stenting
- Experience working independently
- Must have IR and neuro experience to include strokes, bleeds, TIPS, carotid stenting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Siemens and GE equipment experience
- Ultrasound, Laser, Bovie for port removals, Angiojet experience preferred
Schedule
- Night shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
- Weekday calls (Monday-Thursday) once per week, with response within 30 minutes
- Weekend call once every 5-6 weeks, with Friday to Monday coverage
- No holidays currently, but subject to change
- Travelers only take Neuro call if experienced
