Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a 13-week assignment in Brick, New Jersey. The position offers 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, and starts immediately.
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
- PALS or ENPC certifications preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- RCIS/RCES certification preferred
About the Role
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management. The IR Nurse works closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal procedural outcomes.
Essential Work Functions
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
- Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
- Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
- PALS or ENPC certifications preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- RCIS/RCES certification preferred

- Strong critical thinking and service excellence skills

- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Mental requirements to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Sensory to possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
