Travel Nurse RN - Interventional Radiology - $2,636 per week
Job Summary
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Sierra Vista, Arizona. This role involves performing comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, educating patients, administering and monitoring sedation, assisting physicians during procedures, and providing post-procedure monitoring and recovery care.
Essential Work Functions
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
- Education of patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care
- Administration and monitoring of moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Monitoring hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures
- Assisting physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling
- Recognition and response to complications, escalating care when necessary
- Providing post-procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education
- Maintaining accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
- Collaborating with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
- Adhering to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS or ENPC certifications
- ACLS certification
- RCIS/RCES certification
Summary
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery management.
