About the role
12-hour day shifts, 48 hours per week. 24-bed unit with high-acuity neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical patients. Equipment includes Alaris pumps, vents, CPAP/BiPAP, pressors, and advanced devices such as IABP, EVD, ICP, TVP, CRRT, Impella, SWAN, and ECMO. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2–3; overflow can expand to 36 beds. Provider coverage includes an intensivist, resident, and hospitalist team with two mid-levels and two residents on nights, plus a 24/7 rapid-response team, resource RN, and house supervisor. Scheduling is block-based with self-scheduling opportunities after the initial assignment; preferences are accommodated when possible. Navy-blue scrubs required.
Responsibilities
- Provide critical care to ICU patients, including neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical cases
- Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment (vents, CRRT, ECMO, etc.)
- Work every weekend (Friday–Monday)
- Float to all levels of care as required
- Maintain ACLS certification and follow facility protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or Neuro ICU experience
- ACLS certification
- Willingness to work 36 or 48-hour weeks
- Permanent address must be over 50 miles from the facility
- SSN and date of birth required for compliance
- One professional reference covering entire work history
Pay
Pay rate: $2,730.00 – $2,870.00 per week (based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week).
