Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,485 per week

Job Summary

The organization is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse for a position located in Bismarck, North Dakota. This role involves providing specialized care in a 14-bed medical/surgical ICU with a focus on critical patient management. The ICU team includes a 24-hour intensivist, an advanced practice provider during daytime hours, and respiratory therapists, supporting high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with hours from 0600-1800 for day shifts and 1800-0600 for night shifts. The schedule includes every other weekend, with the possibility of rotating shifts to accommodate staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed as a registered nurse with a North Dakota or compact state license;
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required;
• Certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
• Competency in central line care, chest tubes, Foley catheter insertions, ART lines, trach cares, ventilator management, proning, pressors, sedation, Impella, and balloon pumps.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.

Additional Information

• The ICU has 14 beds, including 11 single rooms and 1 suite with 3 beds.
• The unit primarily utilizes EPIC electronic charting and equipment such as Omnicell medication systems, Alaris IV pumps, ventilators, and central monitoring systems.
• Orientation includes a 14-bed medical/surgical ICU training program, with support from a charge nurse, trauma response team, rapid response teams, and code blue responses.
• Floating to other ICU overflow areas or medical-surgical units may be required. Floating can occur to the COVID designated unit or other ICU areas depending on census.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
