Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,356 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The position starts 11/03/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor patients in an Intensive Care Unit setting.
• Provide physician‑directed care, document care, and implement patient care plans.
• Delegate tasks to other care providers as appropriate.
• Provide education and support to patient families, including long‑term care needs.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Take samples for lab work, order corresponding lab work, and interpret reports.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• Minimum 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (ICU preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; patient handling may require up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative and to handle exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
