About the Role
This position is a 13-week travel assignment with a 36-hour workweek, consisting of 12-hour night shifts. The role involves providing critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition.
- Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques.
- Operate and manage advanced life support equipment.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotional needs.
- Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes in patient status.
- Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters.
- Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations.
- Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- One year of recent experience as an ICU RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
- TNCC, NIHSS certification.
- Other certifications or licenses as required for the position.

- Proficiency in reading and comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and using PC skills.
- Physical abilities: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
- Technical/motor skills: Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures or using equipment.
- Mental requirements: Ability to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, and handle irregular activity schedules with continuous attention to detail.
- Sensory abilities: Visual acuity and effective communication skills.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
