Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,130 per week

Job Summary

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position is located in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves working on a fast-paced surgical oncology post-operative unit, providing advanced patient care to individuals with complex medical needs. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and safety.

Schedule

Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/17/2026

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical experience
• STAC (Surgical Treatment and Care) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Kentucky state licensure or eligibility
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of ICU experience
• Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Advanced certifications in critical care nursing

Additional Information

• Unit features 16 beds with a focus on surgical oncology post-operative care
• Patient types include post-operative solid tumor removal, bowel reconstruction, flaps, TPN/lipid administration, tubes and drains, emergent tracheostomies, laryngectomy tubes, ostomies, and nephrostomy tubes
• Patient ratios are approximately 1:4-6 for RNs; 2 CNAs per shift; 1 clerical staff during daytime
• Skills required include port access, TPN/lipid administration, PICC line management, wound maintenance, and NG tube care
• Support staff includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, vascular access teams, sepsis and rapid response teams, RT, hospitalists, specialists, intensivists, and remote telemetry monitoring systems
• Technology used features Cerner electronic medical records, ICU medical pumps, monitors, and unit-specific equipment like sera steady, Arjo lifts, and kangaroo pumps
• Floating to mixed acuity units may be required
• Orientation includes 24 hours (3 days) for NEO, with one 12-hour shift at the end of week one and one at the start of week two

Pay Package

Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
