Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed ICU (non‑trauma hospital)
Focus on stroke assessments, cardiac rhythm management, and critical care interventions
Utilize support from House Supervisor, charge nurse, Respiratory Therapist (RT) accessible 24/7, hospitalist available 24/7, intensivist rounds Mon‑Fri, VCC contact overnight, bedside and central tele monitoring RN staff, and phlebotomy on day shifts
Operate EPIC EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, Omnicell medication dispensing system
Float to Med/Tele, ICU, PCU (if open), ED, within region and scope of practice as needed, including Stanly and other regional facilities
Complete 2‑3 days departmental orientation
Adhere to unit dress code: scrub color navy, no T‑shirts or Crocs; free parking available
Participate in a team‑oriented culture emphasizing communication and constructive feedback
Work holiday shifts at 75% rate

Requirements

BLS certification
ACLS certification
NIHSS certification
18 months to 2 years of ICU RN experience
Valid nursing license
Valid driver’s license
Proof of insurance
