About the role

Telemetry Medical Surgical Float (MS Telemetry) nurse position in a healthcare facility within Zone 4, based around Garden City, Kansas. This role involves floating across multiple units, including General Medical-Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, and other specialized departments. The position requires flexibility to assist with various acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry, with an emphasis on adult and geriatric patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Float across multiple units and specialties as needed, including ICU (for low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Telemetry
• Work 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week
• Cover 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, with occasional holiday rotation
• Perform charting in EPIC electronic medical record system

Requirements

• Active RN license
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 0 years of experience
• Geographic location within 60 miles of the healthcare provider's zones
• Availability for the full 13-week assignment (09/14/2026 – 12/14/2026)
• Willingness to float across multiple facilities within Zone 4 (Garden City, Ulysses, Dodge City)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior neuro experience
• Experience with Alaris infusion pumps
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (11.5 hours per shift)
• 34.5 hours per week minimum
• 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Occasional holiday rotation
• Call or standby is rare, typically for low census
• Policy allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts during the term
