Travel Nurse RN - Float - $2,080 per week

About the role

Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare facility located in Renton, Washington. The role involves providing care to general surgery patients, including those with appendectomies, fractures, gastrointestinal, gynecological, and vascular conditions. The position requires adaptability to float between units and perform responsibilities within a dynamic environment.

Schedule

• Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start date: 09/14/2026
• Duration: 18 weeks

Required qualifications

• BLS Certification
• NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience
• Current licensure
• EPIC electronic health record experience within the last 2 years

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with ventilators (CPAP, NC)
• Ability to recognize lethal cardiac rhythms
• Familiarity with general surgical patient care

Float requirements

Travelers are expected to float to other surgical or medical-surgical units and occasionally to emergency departments, with rare team nursing in COVID medical units.

Unit details

• 38 beds, expandable to 42 with semi-private rooms
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 during both day and night shifts
• RN charge nurse duties are outside staffing responsibilities
• Staffing includes trained PCA's with ratios of 1:8-15, some trained in phlebotomy
• Equipment includes CPAP and NC, with telemetry monitoring managed via RNs and monitor techs
• Orientation includes three days, covering general hospital policies, general surgery, and orthopedic spine
• All RNs must have recent EPIC experience
