About the role

Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) position in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ER RN will administer medications, monitor patient responses, and guide ancillary personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to patient care, documentation, safety procedures, and clinical proficiency in a fast-paced emergency environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses
  • Guide ancillary personnel
  • Participate in staff meetings and safety protocols
  • Perform patient care assessments and maintain documentation
  • Adhere to hospital policies and safety guidelines
  • Maintain ongoing professional development and community representation
  • Perform clinical duties including patient assessments, resource consultation, and IV administration

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • At least 2 years recent emergency room RN experience
  • At least 1 year ER travel experience
  • Skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in de-escalation
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Schedule

  • Nights shift with 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
