About the role
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) position in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The ER RN will administer medications, monitor patient responses, and guide ancillary personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to patient care, documentation, safety procedures, and clinical proficiency in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Guide ancillary personnel
- Participate in staff meetings and safety protocols
- Perform patient care assessments and maintain documentation
- Adhere to hospital policies and safety guidelines
- Maintain ongoing professional development and community representation
- Perform clinical duties including patient assessments, resource consultation, and IV administration
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- At least 2 years recent emergency room RN experience
- At least 1 year ER travel experience
- Skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
- Must read, write, and communicate in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in de-escalation
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Schedule
- Nights shift with 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
