Requirements
- Active RN license
- Degree from an accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, PALS & TNCC may be required (depending on position)
- Minimum eighteen months of recent experience in an acute care Emergency Room setting
- Additional requirements may be specified by the client facility
Responsibilities
Emergency Room registered nurses (RN) provide care for patients with various illnesses or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life‑threatening conditions. Responsibilities include assessing, intervening, and stabilizing a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action; being knowledgeable about general and specific health issues; understanding triage to prioritize injuries based on medical need; and making quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients’ physical and mental health.
