Unit information
- Number of Beds: 39
- Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Unit staffing: one unit secretary and 2-3 techs on the floor
- Equipment: Crash Carts, Level One, Alaris Pumps, Dash bedside cardiac monitors
- Documentation system: MediTech
- Scheduling: 4-week schedule posts 2 weeks prior to start date, preferred three 12-hour shifts per week
- Floating policy: ER hold unit while at capacity, rare during summer months
- Patient Experience requirements: 30-1 hour patient rounding and bedside shift report
Required certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
Required experience & skills
- 3-5 years ER experience
- Multi-task and throughput-focused, teamwork
- Advanced skills: assist in intubation and emergency lifesaving procedures
- Procedures performed on unit: Chest tubes, Moderate sedation, LP, laceration repair, blood products
