Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,537 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care in a fast‑paced emergency environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations, advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries, and plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history, check for allergies, obtain vital signs, and monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care, clean and bandage wounds, provide IV therapy, maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds routinely, with patient moves requiring up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (additional certifications may be required before assignment).
