Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,288 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department (ED) in Worcester, Massachusetts. The assignment is 13 weeks long, with 36 hours per week scheduled as 12‑hour evening shifts. Employment type is travel. The opening is immediate and requires 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Provide care for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent, and emergency environment.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for patient allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good stress‑coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• 1.5 years (approximately 1‑2 years) of recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
