Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing comprehensive emergency care services for a diverse patient population across all age groups. The role requires handling high-acuity cases in a small but busy emergency department designated as a Level III trauma center, STEMI center, and stroke-ready facility.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) certification
- 2+ years of ER RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse
- Willingness to assist with precepting
Clinical Skills and Responsibilities
- Ability to manage all patient types from ESI level 1-5, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients
- Efficient triage and rapid assessment skills are essential
- Performs clinical procedures such as Peripheral Intravenous (PIV) access, NG/OG tube placement, Foley catheterization, wound care, splinting, US-guided IV insertion, art line, central line, and chest tube assistance
- Must participate in psych patient handling as needed, including making calls for placement during nights and weekends
Department Details
- Serves a high-acuity patient volume of approximately 1,100 patients per month in a 93-bed facility with an 11-bed emergency department
- EMR system in use is MEDHOST EDIS, with medication dispensation via Omnicell
Additional Information
- The ER team is collaborative and flexible, with minimal float requirements (approximately one shift in 13 weeks)
- Night shift medication preparation includes mixing medication drips, and EMTALA paperwork compliance is necessary
- Scrubs can be any solid color

Pay Package
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
