The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Iron River, Michigan will provide high-quality nursing care in a busy Emergency Department. The role includes conducting emergency assessments, delivering general nursing care, treating various medical emergencies, managing patient care across different departments, and covering Charge Nurse shifts.

Location: Iron River, Michigan
Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
Schedule: 36 hours per week

Certifications and Education
Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
American Heart Association (AHA) certifications: BLS, PALS, and TNCC
Education: Associate Degree or Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience
Minimum: 3 years of emergency nursing experience required
Preferred: 5 years of experience
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct emergency assessments and deliver general nursing care
Treat geriatric patients with CHF or COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis, trauma, stroke, cardio-respiratory emergencies, COVID-19, pediatric patients, and other medical concerns
Cover Charge Nurse shifts in the ER
Float to ICU and Med-Surg units as needed, with staffing dependent on patient volume
Maintain compliance with facility policies, including mask mandates during flu season for unvaccinated travelers

Unit Information
Emergency Department: 9-bed department with 2 negative pressure rooms and 2 trauma bays
Staffing: 2 RNs on day shift through 11 pm, 1 RN on night shift with a charge nurse
Med-Surg Unit: 25-bed unit with 2 COVID rooms
ICU: 2-bed unit
Additional Notes
Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
RN scrubs of any color acceptable
Position may float to ICU or Med-Surg based on unit needs
