Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,140 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Montgomery, Alabama. The position starts October 19, 2026, lasts 13 weeks, and requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. As an ER Travel Nurse you will work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care following physician instructions, care for patients in a fast‑paced urgent environment, and perform a variety of clinical duties.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions
• Document medical history and check for patient allergies
• Obtain and monitor patient vital signs
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being
• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long‑term care needs
• Provide basic bedside care
• Clean and bandage wounds
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Lift up to 20 pounds; assist with patient lifts up to 50 pounds when needed
• Cope with stress and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds

Requirements

• RN license
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (Emergency Department preferred)
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH, and CPI certifications
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment
